Frequently asked questions
How do I make a QR code for a website URL?
Paste the full URL into the input โ including the https:// at the start โ pick a size, and press "Generate QR code". Then scan it with your phone's camera to confirm it opens the right page before you share or print it.
How do I download a QR code as a PNG?
After generating your code, press the "Download PNG" button and the image saves straight to your device. The downloaded file matches the size you selected, so pick 512 px if you plan to print it.
How big should my QR code be for printing?
Generate at 512 ร 512 px for print โ QR codes are vector-sharp squares, so higher resolution keeps the edges crisp. Also leave some quiet space (the white margin) around the code and print it at least 2 cm (about an inch) wide so phones can scan it reliably.
Why won't my QR code scan?
The usual culprits: the code is printed too small, there's not enough white margin around it, the image is blurry or stretched (never resize a PNG by squashing it), or the surface is too glossy. Regenerate at 512 px, keep the square proportions, and test with your phone before printing in bulk.
Is the text I enter sent to a server?
No. The QR code is rendered entirely in your browser โ your text never leaves the page. The one exception is the small code library that draws the QR, which loads once from a public CDN; after that, everything happens on your device.
