    How to use

    1. Paste your names. One name per line — students, entrants, team members, whatever you're drawing from.
    2. Pick a winner. The penguin draws one name at random and shows it big.
    3. Pick again. Each new draw removes the previous winner from the list, so nobody wins twice. The remaining count updates live.
    4. Or shuffle everyone. "Shuffle all" randomizes the full list into a new order — great for turn order or team drafts.

    Frequently asked questions

How do I pick a random winner from a list?

Paste your names into the box — one per line — and press "Pick a winner." A random name is drawn and displayed. Press it again to draw the next winner from the names that are left.

Can the same person win twice?

Not unless you want them to. Each winner is automatically removed from the list after being drawn, so every pick draws from the remaining names. Hit "Clear list" (or re-paste) to start over.

What's the difference between picking and shuffling?

"Pick a winner" draws one random name and removes it. "Shuffle all" keeps everyone in the pool but randomizes the entire order — useful for presentation order, draft order, or randomized teams.

    Is the drawing really random?

Yes. Draws use crypto.getRandomValues — your browser's cryptographically secure random number generator — with bias-free sampling, and shuffling uses the Fisher–Yates algorithm. Every name has an equal shot, every time.

    Is my list sent anywhere?

No. The list lives only in the text box on this page. Nothing is uploaded, stored, or tracked — close the tab and it's gone.
