Frequently asked questions
How accurate is this stopwatch?
Elapsed time is measured with your device's high-resolution clock and displayed to the millisecond. The on-screen digits refresh as fast as your browser allows โ the underlying timing stays precise even if the display skips a frame here and there.
Does it keep timing if I switch tabs?
Yes. The stopwatch records a start timestamp and computes elapsed time from the system clock, so backgrounding the tab or switching apps doesn't lose time. Just come back and the display catches up instantly.
How do lap times work?
While the clock is running, press "Lap" to capture the current elapsed time as a numbered entry in the lap list. The stopwatch keeps running โ laps are just snapshots, perfect for tracking splits in a run or rounds in a workout.
Can I time something longer than an hour?
Absolutely. The display shows hours, minutes, seconds, and milliseconds, and it keeps counting as long as the page is open. Marathons, slow roasts, road trips โ go for it.
Is my timing data sent anywhere?
Never. Everything happens locally in your browser โ no uploads, no tracking, no storage. Your 4 AM plank record is safe with you.
